The Development Operations Manager will work closely with the senior leadership team of the Foundation for the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW). The Development Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Development Office including gift administration, data management, donor relations, database management, prospect research, and event support.

 

Gift Administration

  • Review, process, and acknowledge all donations within 48 hours

  • Ensure that all gifts are processed in accordance with industry best practices and IRS guidelines

  • Design, differentiate and update gift acknowledgments, based on various giving levels

  • Create gift reports for various stakeholder groups

  • Establish systems to track and coordinate the recognition of special gifts

  • Provide feedback to inform processes related to gift administration and acceptance

 

Database Management

  • Manage and update all gift and demographic information related to all our constituents

  • Track major gift prospects and create reports for Foundation leadership

  • Maintain data integrity by continuously addressing data issues

  • Update grant management data including submission date, deadlines, and report requirements

 

Event Support

  • Input all event related information in eTapestry, with significant attention to detail

  • Support all events sponsored by the Development Office including but not limited to the annual fundraiser and donor recognition events

  • Use data to inform, plan, and implement signature events

  • Manage all aspects of the donor process including follow-up notification thank you letters, and other acknowledgments

  • Collect and manage existing and prospective donor and board engagement information related to special events, including:

Donor Relations

  • Manage the effective stewardship of donors by executing tiered gift acknowledgment tactics

  • Engage students in donor-supported initiatives and other school events

  • Arrange and organize a group and individual tours for existing and prospective donors and community stakeholders

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Three to five years of experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on gift administration and donor relations

  • Self-motivated, self-directed, collegial, creative, and results-oriented

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability and be able to manage confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to learn and effectively use new software

  • Must employ an advanced ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, schedules, and objectives

  • Must be collaborative with a strong commitment to team support and positive customer service

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data manipulation and analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

  • Technical knowledge of constituent relationship management (CRM) database systems, preferably eTapestry

  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects with a high degree of autonomy and accuracy in an environment subject to frequent interruptions

  • The ability to remain current regarding best practices by reading relevant publications, policies, reference information, and other available resources as well as through conferences, conferring with vendors and with peers
