The Hanover Area YMCA in Hanover PA is looking to hire the Ideal Team Player whose humble, hungry and smart!
Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Directs the maintenance and improvement operations of YMCA facilitates and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets.

Qualifications
  • Three or more years’ experience in facility management or closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, pool operation and other maintenance related areas.
  • Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required within 120 days of employment.
  • Ability and current license to drive with a record that meets YMCA standards.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills.
  • Possess a high level of organizational knowledge, experience and proficiency.
  • Articulate communication skills relating to membership and branch leadership.
  • Ability to successfully lead, recruit and develop staff and volunteers.
  • Superior conflict resolution skills, sound judgment, initiative and independent thinking.
  • Master the art of influence and relationship building with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possess and demonstrate commitment and passion for mission-centered objectives.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and change capacity.

Essential Functions

1. Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance and cleanliness at all three locations and at the Littlestown Borough Pool during the summer months.

2. Including planning and developing preventative maintenance. Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.

3. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. Must request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.

4. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building departments, etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilitate and grounds.

5. Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.

6. Recruits, hires, trains, develops schedules and directs assigned staff. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

7. Participates with other members of management in management meeting, the YMCA’s fundraising campaign (Kids Come First) and various events such as our annual run and the Tim Weaver.

8. Leads the Building and Grounds Committee and assists our Risk Manager in leading our Risk Management Committee and association strategies.

9. Advises and teaches management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.

10. Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.

11. Updates facility plans periodically. May develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA’s strategic plan and community needs.

12. Align people, process and technology to achieve cost efficiencies, improve operational efficiencies all while ensuring our strategic advantage.

13. Proficient in data analysis, fiscal management, volunteer development, and small group facilitation.

14. Represents the YMCA at Community Events and local borough/township meetings.

15. Performs all other duties as assigned.
