We are searching for an Assistant to the Executive Vice President - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will initiate and coordinate a variety of duties as they relate to the successful operations of Texas Children's Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a problem solver and decision-maker in assisting the Executive Vice President and
  • performs other essential functions.
  • Juggles multi-task, high priority issues in a professional, courteous manner on an on-going daily basis as well as handling all
  • other daily activities.
  • Maintainsresponsibility for keeping the EVP informed of important matters on an on-going basis throughout the day.
  • Performs a variety of duties with latitude for exercising discretion and judgment
  • Completes special projects and presentations as requested by the EVP.
  • Ensures the preparation for all board and hospital committees for which EVP has responsibility, including coordination of agendas and meeting materials.
  • Ensures the preparation of materials for meetings, including arranging meetings and scheduling meeting rooms for EVP on an as-needed basis.
  • Composes, formats, and proofreads a variety of materials including typewritten correspondence, memoranda, and various reports as instructed.
  • Formats all correspondence in accordance with current graphics standards set by the Hospital within current graphics standards set by the Hospital within current grammar and secretarial practices.
  • Relieves receptionist on designated days at designated times. Answers telephone in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Ability to utilize a personal computer using word processing and spreadsheet applications; type a minimum of 60 words per minute; transcribe; operate basic office equipment; think quickly and react immediately; maintain composure while interacting with others at all levels; prioritize; remain flexible; attend to detail; demonstrate initiative; demonstrate good memory retention; adapt to changing situations; and demonstrate excellent writing, communications, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • 5 years of administrative experience Required
  • Experience in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Heavy Calendaring needed
