President/ CEO

We’re looking for a motivated professional who is

passionate about making a difference across Wyoming

Position Summary: The President/CEO is located in Cheyenne but works remotely from their home. the President is responsible for management, growth, and development of the organization. This position reports to the WBA Executive Committee.

About Wyoming Business Alliance: We are a non-profit organization that serves as Wyoming’s premier business advocate to its esteemed members. We promote and advocate a growing economy by connecting business and political leaders from across Wyoming.

Primary Job Responsibilities

The President is the leader of the organization and its voice and face throughout the state and beyond.

  • Supervisor organizational staff and external contractors.
  • Coordinates staff efforts for successful organizational administration
  • Provides strategic direction to the Management Committee and Steering Committee
  • Coordinates consistent participation of WBA committees in membership activities and stakeholder activities.
  • Serve as point of contact for media and develop outreach and communication program highlighting the WBA as Wyoming premier pro-business advocate.
  • Oversee online and social media presence for the WBA.
  • Provides timely updates of relevant items for WBA members and stakeholders.
  • Provides support for legislative committee, event committee and finance committees and other committees as developed.
  • Coordinates all grant projects.
  • Develop annual organizational budget and track Forum expenses.
  • Develops and implements strategy for organizational growth, membership recruitment, membership education, public awareness, and business topics.
  • Oversees all advocacy efforts and research projects. Works with elected officials and state policy makers for the betterment of business in Wyoming.
  • Represents the WBA and its members at the Capitol.
  • Oversee Development and execution of the WBA/WHF forum and events with attention to attendance and sponsorship income.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Must be able to travel the State for Legislative meetings and membership events as required to represent the WBA.

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Experience and success in fundraising for support and events.
  • Manges through systems, form internal committees, governmental, education, etc..
  • Comfortable building coalitions.
  • Drives the results for the organization, member and for Wyoming change management.
  • Extensive knowledge of public relations, fundraising best practices and strategies.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write.
  • Excellent networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with executive leaders, members, and media contacts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to independently manage priories and meet deadlines.
  • Dependable self-starter who sets high standards
  • Ability to adapt and innovate to achieve excellence.
  • Ability to succeed and thrive in a remove work environment and lead others while working in a remove work environment.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum ten years of experience in public relations, communications, or related field required with three years of supervisory experience.

Understanding of Wyoming’s public policy issues, organizations, and economic challenges.

Compensation

Starting pay range $120,000 - $150,000 plus bonus. Excellent benefits package includes paid holidays, four weeks PTO; medical, vision, dental insurance at 100% for employees; SEP retirement program with generous matching; reimbursement for mileage and remote office supplies.
