SPCA Florida is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for our donor engagement and fundraising programs. The Development and Fundraising Manager will support the Executive Director in all aspects of fundraising related to annual appeals, donor research, donor development and cultivation, sponsor identification and engagement, grant writing - follow through and final reports, database maintenance, and event planning and management. The self-motivated candidate will become a key component of our talented Marketing and Development Department, and a member of our Leadership Team. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborates with Executive Director and the Marketing and Philanthropic department on fundraising goals and targets for proposals, appeals, campaigns, and events. Supports this effort with grant research, writing, and management.
- Identifies, develops, and implements strategies for the cultivation and stewardship of new, existing, and past donors.
- Develops rapport with vendors/donors/sponsors through one-on-one interactions, exploring specific needs, anticipating new opportunities.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in offsite and after-hours professional organizations.
- Collaborates with key staff to conduct tours for mid and high-level donors.
- Maintains the integrity of donor management tracking and system maintenance and reporting.
- Sustains philanthropic efforts via donor reporting and stewardship initiatives.
- Ensures the timely and accurate posting of donations and acknowledgments.
- Provides timely and accurate report deliveries to constituents.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- BS/MS degree in Business Administration, Communications or a related field is required; Masters' degree in a related field is a plus. Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in fundraising, communications, and/or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the non-profit sector. Additional training and coaching in a team environment is available to the right candidate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Proficient technical aptitude to excel in Microsoft Office Suite, social media, Donor Perfect, and a variety of software programs.
- Effective and professional communication: written and oral
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail and follow-through while working in an ever-changing environment.
- Strong budget management and analysis
- Self-motivated with the ability to oversee multiple projects seamlessly and simultaneously, using time management skills.
- Solid analytical and statistical skills
- Proven philanthropic best practices including donor relations, event management, and grant writing.
- Adept at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Uphold strict confidentiality in all aspects of donor relations and subjects relating to SPCA Florida.
